Well, anyone who knows me knows I am a "project Queen". As in, I start them 20 at a time, finish them.. sometimes, and.. stress out about them all the time. Teehee.
The remodel is.. starting. Demo starts this week, so I have been focusing on organizing, sorting, throwing away unwantables, and Packrat-ing the stuff that will be moved back in when my house is all shiny and new. I have also been working cray hours to afford all the things I want (including but not limited to: hardwood floors, heated floors, fancy countertops, a soaking tub... barn, filly, etc. Not too much or anything..). I have a week coming up where I work 78 hours in 5 days. Now THAT is insane. I know, but it's still going to happen. Because I want STUFF.
Anyway, with the bathroom done, that's a huge project finished. The hallway wall is studded with the new doorway location! Woot! The trim pieces for the flooring upstairs came in, so I can finish the hallway, which will be another huge piece done- all that will be left is the master bedroom, which may end up being a more extensive remodel anyway, so... We shall see. At the moment, I'm thinking I'd love to pull Logan's closet out more and give him a walk in, and maybe pull mine out another 3 feet so I can actually walk through it without whacking my head on the hooks. And we'd STILL have a 15+' long room 14' wide. So... Not really a huge deal. But, that is a question for another day.
AND... the downstairs will be gorgeous. I hope. We're going to do gray cabinets (I'm leaning toward stained gray versus painted), with the floor on the left. Warm, but with interest and gray tones to bring it together.
Originally I was thinking of putting in the countertops in the previous post, but... I am splurging on the floor, so had to wind back the countertop costs, so probably going with a straight black or gray toned boring.. But I think the floors will bring enough interest.. yeah.
The cabinets will have bases all around where they are now, but only uppers on the left beyond the fridge. The stove hood will be on the left, and none on the window wall. There will still be a peninsula with an overhang for stools. The wall will extend from the peninsula (pulled out about 2' from where it is now) to the edge of the chimney, with the bathroom door located in the living room.
Living room will have carpet and sheetrock! yay!
Office will have vinyl floor and sheetrock! yay!
Bathroom... Ehh.. Still working on that.
Oh, and that giant ugly pine tree fell Tuesday night in the epic windstorm of 2021. And caused... very little damage. Insane!
House? Where did you goooo?
So close!!
Reminds me of those sci-fi movies with forest scenes in the windows!
On top of all that, as if it wasn't enough, I also have chicken tractors to make for chickens coming 4/12/21, rabbit hutches to make before I can make any baby bunnies, AND we have so many trees STILL down in the arena (nevermind everywhere else), to chop and chip. ASAP. I cannot wait until all the moving is done so I can start on all this other stuff! YAY!
