My god, the things.

It's been a while. And, if you know me at all, not hearing from me for a while means you've missed more than most people do in... 6 months. Years, sometimes. So. Here goes the short version:

I went looking for a pony with Shelby for Shelby and eventually ended up buying Xena- a turned 4 on 5/4/21 Cleveland Bay/TB cross mare who was, as best I can come up with, handled regularly as a yearling and during her accidental pregnancy last year, but otherwise has lived in a field- and so, is... slightly feral. But so sweet, I heart her.

Then.. In meeting all the CBs/CB Xs up at the farm, Shelby and I looked at each other and decided then and there that we'd found Sher's future baby daddy, and.. as part of the agreement to buy Xena, got a breeding contract for Sher as well. Woot! Meet Old Dominion Artorius, aka Artie. Names discussed have included: Old Dominion Dragon, Art of the Dragon, Old Dominion Wildwood, Artorian Outlaw, OD Bouddicca

So, Sherwood is currently up in VT being bred- and there's a hilarious story attached to that. And.. amusingly enough, Liz found a song I might have to incorporate into a freestyle for her. LMAO

Xena is heading to Jessie's in Maine on the 19th and Sher will be back the end of the month. June is a good month.

Shelby broke her butt the weekend before GMHA riding a bronc of a green Morgan at the Townshend Farm, which was a visit that's hard to say was worth it because I literally saw every horse there and still have no idea what had a price tag, nevermind what the price tag was. Breeders are so weird.

The house has new electrical everywhere, panelling down and sheetrock up, paint on all the walls, trim around the windows, and "aged" (with carefully mixed stain!) vaulted ceilings are up! Cabinets and floors come in next week; this project is coming together! We had some help because we all know how much I hate painting, thanks all!

Grand trines and grand crosses

If I could go the rest of my life without ever hearing those phrases..  Your life will have grand trines.. but there will be grand crosses ...
